Ms. Tami!
Hi! I am Ms. Tami! Watching children develop and grow naturally fills me with such joy!
I have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern State University and over 13 years of teaching experience, I'm passionate about creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young learners. I embrace a holistic approach to teaching early learners, honoring each child's individual development. In the "Age of Technology", I see a great need for less screen time and more fresh air. Unstructured outdoor play stimulates curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Therefore, outside of the classroom, we don't just have recess, we extend learning opportunities with significant time in nature.
My favorite part about teaching preschool is seeing the joy on children's faces when they independently solve a problem or conquer a challenging situation!

We intentionally rely very little on technology. No iPads here. Nature is the cornerstone of our approach to teaching the "whole child", honoring all aspects of development. We focus on academic readiness through naturally/intentionally embedded literacy and math learning opportunities through indoor and outdoor play.

Our indoor and outdoor spaces provide safe environments in which children can move and explore under our watchful eye. Our indoor classroom is intentionally designed with child safety in mind while our outdoor spaces provide children fresh air and a sense of freedom to follow curiosities, make discoveries, and experience the joy of movement.

We celebrate special occasions with parties for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and your child’s birthday!

Each year, your child will receive a different t-shirt for that school year to wear on Spirit Days. We hope that our families will be with us so long they are t-shirt collectors! We also save some of your child’s artwork for a special portfolio you get at graduation.

When should I call to register my child?
It’s never too early to call, so call as soon as you even think about registering, because our classes fill up ridiculously fast!
When does preschool start? Can I enroll mid-year?
We have a 10-month school year (Aug.-May) and a 6-week Kindergarten Ready summer camp (June-Mid July) for students who will be entering KG the following August. If we have spots available, you can enroll mid-year. Please call us to see if we have any spots available.
How old does my child need to be to attend?
Preschool classes are for children who are ages 3-5 (and "independent almost-3-year-olds") by Sep. 1. Summer camp is for children who will be entering Kindergarten.
Does my child have to be potty trained?
Yes. If you have any questions about whether or not your child is ready, feel free to give us a call. We even have a “How To Potty Train” your child handout we can give you. It’s helped many preschool moms quickly potty train their kids. We’re here to help!
What is your teaching philosophy?
We follow a “whole child” philosophy where we work with you to improve your child’s Social, Emotional, Cognitive, Language, and Physical skills. Our curriculum is based on the NAEYC guidelines and features a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated hands-on activities to accomplish these goals. We also incorporate Fundamentals Preschool Curriculum. Your child will learn to socialize, make friends, develop social and emotional skills, and be more than ready for Kindergarten!
Are there additional fees during the year?
No. Your registration fee covers all your child’s supplies and reserves a spot in our program. Your child won’t pay anything to attend our field trips and activities. Your child will also receive at no extra cost: a preschool shirt to wear on Spirit Day and a graduation portfolio!
What if my child has food restrictions?
No worries. Several of our students have food intolerances or severe allergies. We ask these families to bring in their own snacks, and we create nut-free classrooms any time a child’s allergy is severe enough to require an epi pen.
Is the registration fee refundable?
No.
How many students do you have per class?
We have the smallest class sizes in town so your child gets lots of 1-on-1 time. We only have 6 students per class.
